The Pre-K Room
Welcome to the Pre-K Room. The classroom is taught by an Alberta Certified Teacher and has Educational Assistants for additional supports. Pre-K follows the kindergarten program statement in regards to overall development and education. With a Learning Through Play Philosophy, children with one or more mild/moderate needs in an area of development will gain the skills needed to move forward into kindergarten the next year.
There is a parent paid option for families who would like their child to attend pre-kindergarten without a developmental delay. It would be a monthly fee of $300/month, paid at the beginning of each month. As the program is run by an Education Teacher, they will follow the Alberta Curriculum for kindergarten while building on the strength of the individual child.
Facility Features
The Pre-Kindergarten room is a spacious space room set up with learning centers to enhance the Learning Through Play philosophy.
They have access to a large gymnasium and multiple outdoor play spaces.
Daily Schedules
8:45-9:10 a.m. Children arrive/Open Centres
9:15-9:30 a.m. Carpet Time
9:30-10:40 a.m. Open Centres & Open Snack
10:40 – 10:55 a.m. Bible/Story Time , Song/Dance
11:00-11:50 a.m. Gross Motor Time (outside or gym)
11:50-12:15 p.m. Lunch
12:15-12:30 p.m. Dance/Music
12:30-2:00 p.m. Quiet Time
1:00-2:00 p.m. Table Top Activities
2:00-2:45 p.m. Gross Motor Time
2:45 – 3:05 Snack
3:05-3:30 Closing Circle/Get ready for home/Free play
